Full of Graze

I ventured to order a Graze box last week. As a person who tends to get lost in the doldrums, I have been told that seeds and nuts rich in Omegas are quite good to lift the spirits – of course, while taking your crazy pills as commanded by the doctor. This kind of food is a bit too expensive for my liking, so when I found out that Graze was sending you some of these as prepared nibbles for £3.79, they sold me the idea right away.

The box comes through Royal Mail, whenever you tell them to send it. You don’t need to be there to sign for it once it arrives, so it’s perfect for busy people who work and move away from home. It’s small and slim, made of recycled cardboard; yet it contains tons of yummy goodness.

It’s like a treasure chest once you open it! It has some lovely photograph or illustration on one side, while on the other it contains four different kinds of nibbles. It also comes with a personalised leaflet, including nutrition facts if you give a toss about that. But what were the contents of this, my very first Graze box?

Clock-wise: ancient forest nuts, orange & ginger flapjack, natural vanilla seeds and great fire dragon.

Ancient forest nuts are the simplest of the bunch, but not precisely the least delicious: almonds, hazelnuts and walnuts, all together. Graze flaunts this very essencial and powerful bunch as part of their Top 10 Health Stars, and mentions how walnuts are packed with Omega-3 (yes, the same Omegas recommended to leash the Black Dog) and how it makes a supercombo along the Vitamin E – an antioxidant – contained in almonds and hazelnuts.

I’m not particularly a fan of oranges and ginger, but the flapjacks are amazing! So sweet and acid at the same time. It is the most ‘substancious’ food of the bunch, for cases of desperate hunger. I guess it is also helpful during these last days of winter in order to battle common cold and feel warmer inside.

Natural vanilla sounds plain. Natural AND vanilla. However, it’s surprisingly powerful. The pumpkin and sunflower seeds are infused with vanilla, and the taste and smell are pretty extreme. This is my husband’s favourite of the lot, and he has a very strict palate.

My fave, however, was the great fire dragon: jumbo chilli maize, roasted maize and chilli broad beans. Spicy and crunchy without  making you cry nor taking you immediatly to the dentist. The right stuff. I might be Mexican, but I can’t handle much heat. This, nevertheless, is perfect.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND I’M GOING TO GIVE YOU A FREE BOX! Just go to their website and add the code NZX5L8MC. You can rate their menu, so you get more of what you like and none of what you don’t. As I’ve said, it comes through the normal mail, and it’s heaps of natural delights that don’t take much space. Like a TARDIS of nibbles!

BTW go for the Nibblebox, as the other kind of box is a redux version. 😉
